Workshops for Parents

We have three ½ day workshops available:

  1. How to be a StandUp Parent

The workshop “How to Be a StandUp Parent” introduces the fundamentals of the StandUp Parenting Program and the principles on which it is based.

    • Getting parents on the same page
    • Allowing kids to learn how the real world works
    • Holding kids accountable without showing anger
    • Motivating kids to think first
    • Staying out of arguments
    • Choosing only battles that matter
    • Standing firm on your values
    • Accepting support from others
  2. C.L.E.A.R. Rules and R.E.A.L. Consequences

Many parents find that they give their children so much that the children feel entitled to things they haven’t done anything to earn. Some parents do so much for their children that they fail to take care of their own needs and desires. Some parents love their children so much that they cannot say no or provide the boundaries that make children feel safe and secure.

The “Too Much of a Good Thing” workshop explores the phenomenon of overindulgence and over protection. Exercises are included to help parents clarify whether they are giving too much to their children. Activities are designed to show parents how to set limits on themselves where needed.

  3. Too Much of a Good Thing

When kids ignore or defy rules, parents often feel powerless. They wonder what they can do to get the changes needed. The CLEAR Rules and REAL Consequences workshop gives practical ideas for setting limits based on each family’s core values with consequences that motivate compliance. Fresh and effective ideas for gaining children’s cooperation are explored in this dynamic learning experience.

StandUp Parenting certified trainers/presenters can come to your location. All workshops can be modified to fit in the allotted time allowed by your event. Any of the workshops can be used to pave the way for a 6-week class or starting a new group. Contact us for more information if you would like a presenter to come to your event.
